Our heart is to be in and for our community

We do this in many ways and this page gives details of the various courses and events that we run as a family for our community.

We are able to refer people in need to the Hart Foodbank, which is located at the Life Church in Hook, and to provide them with a voucher. These vouchers can be exchanged for an emergency parcel of food to suit their family needs for three days. Hart Foodbank is a practical way through which we can network with others in order to serve people in our local community. We also collect long shelf life food here to contribute to the Foodbank. For more information please contact the church office.

TASTE LIFE

TasteLife is a course designed for anyone suffering from any type of eating disorder and for those who care for them. We probably all know of someone who is struggling with an eating disorder, many suffer in silence because they’re ashamed or don’t know where turn. Tastelife material has been well thought out by families and medical experts and is accredited through Brighton University. The course is about giving people tools and practical help.  Although based on Christian principles it is appropriate for anyone seeking help for themselves or for a loved one.

PARENTING COURSES

Parenting can be hard, whether it’s your first or fourth. On our courses we look at topics such as building relationship, boundaries, love languages and discipline. We know that being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging. We run ‘Positive Parenting’ courses from ‘Care for the Family’. Our courses are here to support you and help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, whatever their age. They include group discussions and practical tasks to help you build on your strengths and will give you time and space to think about any changes you want to make. A helpful, easy-to-read handbook is included with each course.

Our next course is particularly aimed at parents of 5-11 year olds.  You can contact Claire Parker for further information, or sign up via the button below.
