Running as a thread through our vision is the importance of small groups for living life together. As places where we can grow to be more ‘full’ we encourage all church members to join a Life group or other small group.

What is a Life Group?

Life groups at St John’s are usually groups of up to 12 people who each week hanging out together; socialising, praying, worshipping and looking into bible studies. These groups are an essential part of church life, and always welcoming to new people!

Why do we have Life Groups?

The vision is that everyone in church will be a part of one of these groups, because we believe this is where you really belong to the church, and have the opportunity to live life together and support each other. A life group is the place where you will be the most cared for and supported by your church family.

When do they take place?

There are many different expressions of life groups depending on what age you are right from youth to older people. Some may vary in their timing and meeting place but mostly we stick to this model: each group is hosted and led by two people and meet on a Tuesday or Thursday night starting at 8.00pm in the home of the hosts or a group member.  We hold family time really highly so we try not to go beyond 10.00pm as an end time.
